At the European Parliament in Strasbourg, during a debate on military mobility, Kosma Złotowski, a Law and Justice MEP and Quaestor of the European Parliament, took the floor. The MEP emphasized the urgent need for infrastructure investments and for Europe to prepare for real threats from Russia.
Kosma Złotowski warned against further delaying actions to ensure Europe’s security. “Europe no longer has time to delay preparing for the war that Russia wants, is striving for, and will sooner or later provoke,” the MEP emphasized.
The PiS politician noted that rebuilding Europe’s defense capabilities must encompass all areas, including transportation infrastructure. As he pointed out, in peacetime, roads, airports, and ports serve civilian functions, but in the face of a threat, they become a key element of the security and defense system.
“We need deregulation and substantial investments that will facilitate the transport of troops, the deployment of heavy equipment, and the reception of allied aid,” said the PiS MEP.
In his speech, the MEP from Bydgoszcz highlighted specific projects of strategic importance for the security of Poland and the entire European Union. As an example, he cited the Via Pomerania highway, which is intended to connect the Polish coast with Bydgoszcz and Inowrocław—centers that play a significant role in the national and European security systems.
“The European Commission should secure funding for projects that are key to military mobility. These are investments that strengthen Europe’s actual defense capabilities,” he emphasized.
