Today in Strasbourg, during the European Parliament’s plenary session, a debate took place on the EU’s long-term budget for the period after 2027. Speaking on behalf of the ECR Group were PiS MEPs Patryk Jaki and Bogdan Rzońca.
Patryk Jaki said that “the same groups have been sitting in the European Parliament for years.” “You were entrusted with managing a continent that has produced the world’s greatest culture, the best economy, industry, and development, and the greatest democratic traditions—and you have ruined it all,” the PiS politician declared. He noted that the EU’s disastrous demographic policy has led to a significant decline in the birth rate. “So you had to bring in migrants who, instead of contributing to development, generate ever-increasing costs and more and more problems,” Jaki emphasized, pointing out that illegal migrants “work less, commit more crimes, and despise our culture.” “And instead of getting rid of them, you feed them, clothe them, and even threaten those who want to defend ordinary people from them,” the PiS politician remarked.
The ECR leader referred to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s statement that “she represents democratic forces.” “You were supposed to be a model of democracy, but you became infamous for annulling election results you didn’t like. On top of that, you imposed sanctions on Poland for the so-called ‘pushbacks’ at the border with Belarus,” the PiS politician recalled, noting that it is now coming to light that Germany is doing exactly the same thing at the border with Poland, within the Schengen Area. “And where is the equality among nations?” Jaki asked.
The Polish politician stated that “instead of building solidarity, we have growing divisions and theories about better and worse cultures.” He pointed out that some countries can apply whatever judicial principles they want, while others cannot. He pointed out that the desire to be a leader in the so-called “green madness” “only makes us look ridiculous and turns us into the world’s suckers,” and that the EU has lost nearly half of its share of nominal GDP in the global economy. At the same time, the ECR chairman noted, the EU continues to push for stricter climate targets. “This is madness,” said Jaki, stating that there is “pervasive decadence and a decline in morals, symbolized by absurd theories about 256 genders.” He also pointed to the scandalous conditionality mechanism that ties payments from the EU budget to the achievement of climate goals.
“Your policy was supposed to build peace, but it has brought another war to the continent. How are you supposed to fight for Europe if you yourselves do not believe in its true heritage—reason, law, beauty, and innovation? Instead, you’ve made illegal migrants, the rainbow flag, green madness, and bottle caps the symbols of Europe. So the President of the European Commission must be removed,” emphasized the PiS MEP.
Bogdan Rzońca said that the European Commission has already plunged the European Union into debt and wants to take out more loans. “That’s why there’s no point in waiting, because things will only get worse,” the PiS politician stated. He warned that the Multiannual Financial Framework would effectively lose value, funding for the Common Agricultural Policy would be reduced by 20 percent, and “regions will be blackmailed into receiving funds only after they meet specific conditions.” “This is a disastrous solution; we cannot proceed this way,” Rzońca emphasized. The PiS MEP pointed out that a debt of 300 billion euros will weigh on the new MFF, and the new budget will be that much smaller in real terms. “The ‘fat years’ of living on credit will, unfortunately, turn into ‘lean years,’ and these ‘lean years’ will lead to further unrest unless we dismiss the European Commission, which is performing very poorly and acting against a united European Union,” he stressed.
