We advocate for a strong and competitive agricultural sector based on family farms, which form the foundation of the European food production model. Our priority is to restore the profitability of agricultural production, strengthen farmers’ position in the supply chain, and ensure fair competition in the EU single market.
We oppose the further implementation of Green Deal measures in agriculture that lead to higher production costs, reduced competitiveness of European farms, and a weakening of Europe’s food security. Climate policy must not be pursued at the expense of farmers and consumers, nor should it lead to Europe’s dependence on food imports from third countries.
We call for a thorough overhaul of the Common Agricultural Policy aimed at further simplification, reducing bureaucracy, and restoring its core function of supporting agricultural production and stabilizing farmers’ incomes. We oppose proposals to merge Common Agricultural Policy funds with other European Union policies under the so-called “Single Fund.” Agriculture must retain its own independent and sufficiently large budget to guarantee food security and the stable development of rural areas.
We expect a comprehensive review of the EU’s trade policy and the introduction of the principle of equivalence of standards for imports from Ukraine, Mercosur countries, India, and other third countries. Products imported into the European Union should meet exactly the same requirements as those applicable to European producers. We oppose the further expansion of duty-free quotas and trade agreements that undermine the interests of European agriculture and Europe’s food security.
The livestock and meat production sectors, which are an important part of the European agricultural economy and cultural heritage, require special protection. We reject attempts to administratively restrict livestock farming and ideological campaigns targeting meat consumption and the traditional dietary model. We advocate for respecting citizens’ right to choose a traditional diet based on high-quality, natural products.
