Today, the European Parliament held a debate on the situation in Ukraine, in which PiS MEP Adam Bielan took part. He emphasized the need for a firm and unified European stance against Russia’s ongoing aggression, as well as the need to conclude a just peace exclusively on Ukraine’s terms.
In his speech, Adam Bielan recalled that from the very first day of the invasion, Europe has stood in solidarity with Ukraine, defending fundamental values: sovereignty, freedom, and the international order that guarantees peace for all nations, not just the strongest ones. The MEP noted that the Kremlin is counting on fatigue, divisions, and a false sense of “stability” that could paralyze the West. “We cannot allow this—a divided Europe would be the greatest gift to Putin,” he urged.
The ECR coordinator in the AFET Committee firmly emphasized that “peace” imposed by Moscow is in reality a reward for the aggressor, which would legitimize the occupation and constitute a betrayal of the Ukrainian people fighting for freedom. “A just and lasting peace must be concluded on Ukraine’s terms—with full respect for its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the right of Ukrainians to decide their own future,” the PiS politician emphasized.
The MEP also expressed his full support for continued aid to Ukraine: “We will stand with Ukraine until victory. This means military support sufficient to repel the aggression, financial support to sustain the state, and a joint reconstruction plan based on accountability—including the use of frozen Russian assets.”
Addressing representatives of the European Commission and the European Parliament, Adam Bielan called for a clear, unambiguous message: Europe will not give in to blackmail, will not normalize aggression, and will not abandon Ukraine. “Only peace based on justice can endure,” he concluded his speech.
