During a plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, as part of a debate on combating antisemitism and protecting Jewish life in Europe, PiS MEP Arkadiusz Mularczyk strongly condemned the recent acts of hatred against the Jewish community in Belgium and the Netherlands. He emphasized that antisemitism, in any form and anywhere, must be met with an immediate and unequivocal response.
In his speech, he drew attention to the broader European context, citing Poland as an example of a country that for years has welcomed hundreds of thousands of Jews visiting Holocaust memorial sites such as Kraków, Oświęcim, Warsaw, Leżajsk, and Nowy Sącz. He emphasized that these visits take place in an atmosphere of respect and reflection, and that local communities demonstrate openness and respect for historical memory.
Arkadiusz Mularczyk noted that these experiences demonstrate the possibility of building coexistence based on truth, memory, and mutual respect.
At the same time, he expressed concern about incidents of antisemitism in countries perceived as models of tolerance, stressing that Europe cannot apply double standards in defending its values. He noted that the European Union’s credibility requires consistent action across all member states.
The MEP also emphasized the need for a coherent and decisive policy at the European Union level to combat antisemitism, with a particular focus on historical education and raising public awareness. “If we want to be credible, we must respond everywhere—without exceptions and without double standards,” he emphasized.
