Elżbieta Rafalska on high-quality jobs in a competitive, future-oriented social market economy

Today in Strasbourg, during the European Parliament’s plenary session, a debate took place on high-quality jobs in a competitive, future-oriented social market economy. PiS MEP Elżbieta Rafalska spoke during the discussion.

Elżbieta Rafalska emphasized that job creation and high-quality jobs are integral elements of the EU’s “Europe 2020” strategy for smart, sustainable, and inclusive economic growth. “High-quality jobs mean fair pay and social protection, high standards of occupational safety and health, as well as the option to work part-time, the MEP noted. According to the Polish politician, efforts to support economic growth should focus particularly on younger generations and small and medium-sized enterprises. “Let us pay special attention to particularly vulnerable groups, such as people experiencing or at risk of poverty or social exclusion, she urged. Rafalska emphasized that the European Social Fund (ESF+) should continue to be the driving force behind strengthening the social dimension of the Union in accordance with the principles of the European Pillar of Social Rights, as an instrument supporting countries and regions in their pursuit of high levels of employment.
