Małgorzata Gosiewska commemorates the victims of the Volhynia Massacre

In Strasbourg, during a plenary session of the European Parliament, as part of the one-minute speeches on important political issues, PiS MEP Małgorzata Gosiewska took the floor and recalled the Volhynia Massacre —an ethnic cleansing in Volhynia and Eastern Galicia—in connection with the 82nd anniversary of the brutal murder of tens of thousands of Poles.

“Today we pay tribute to these victims. Remembering them is not meant to stir up hatred, but to lead to reconciliation based on the truth, she emphasized.

She also spoke of hopeful gestures on the part of the Ukrainian authorities, such as their consent to exhumations in Puźniki and searches in Zboiska and Ugły. “These are important steps that show we are capable of facing the past together,” she stated.

“I believe that a nation which is itself experiencing the pain of war so deeply today and searching for its fallen with such dedication will best understand our need to find and give a dignified burial to all the victims. Let the memory of the victims be our shared commitment. We remember you, and we will continue to remember you!” she emphasized.
