Anna Zalewska: "To say that Europe is at a turning point is an understatement"

Today in Strasbourg, during the European Parliament’s plenary session, a debate took place titled “The Need for Greater Use of Clean Technologies by the Union.” PiS MEP Anna Zalewska spoke on behalf of the ECR Group.

The PiS MEP stated that “to say that Europe is at a turning point is an understatement.” “We must unequivocally admit that we are standing on the edge of a precipice, and the Commission is proposing that we shift into higher gears so that we reach rock bottom even faster,” – added Anna Zalewska, pointing out that the European Commission is pushing through “projects without a plan, without analysis, without funding sources, without engineers, chemists, and physicists—contrary to logic and common sense.” "This means that the European Union doesn’t know what it’s doing," she stated. She recalled that when work on the Fit for 55 package was underway during the previous term of the European Parliament, she warned MEPs on the ENVI Committee that this was yet another document “lining the pockets of the Chinese,” because the EU has neither rare earth metals nor the technology and is far behind, “as all possible, logical, and economic reports indicate.”
