Today in Strasbourg, during the European Parliament’s plenary session, a debate took place on the establishment of the Instrument for Support of Reforms and Economic Growth in the Republic of Moldova. PiS MEP Mariusz Kamiński spoke during the discussion.
Mariusz Kamiński emphasized that Moldova needs help in building an independent and democratic state. “Words of solidarity alone are not enough. If we want to pull Moldova out of Russia’s sphere of influence, we must act quickly and decisively,” the PiS MEP urged.
“That is why I welcome today’s discussion on establishing the Instrument for Reform and Economic Growth Support in Moldova. ‘Real financial support is the concrete action that the authorities and citizens of this country are waiting for,’ the politician emphasized.
Mariusz Kamiński noted that Poland has supported Moldova since it gained independence. He recalled that, as Minister of the Interior, he himself participated in providing this assistance in 2023, “in the face of pro-Russian attempts at destabilization and pro-Russian militias on the streets, the Polish Ministry of the Interior provided the Moldovan side with a large amount of police equipment, including weapons and ammunition, so that Moldova could be self-sufficient in maintaining public order.”
“Let’s give Moldova a chance to escape Putin’s dictatorship!” the politician appealed, expressing his conviction that the financial support, which will be voted on tomorrow, will contribute significantly to this goal.
