MEP Jadwiga Wiśniewska Demands Explanations Regarding Plans to Make EU Funding Contingent on Worldview Issues

MEP Jadwiga Wiśniewska Demands Explanations Regarding Plans to Make EU Funding Contingent on Worldview Issues

PiS MEP Jadwiga Wiśniewska submitted a question to the European Commission regarding its concerning plans to impose strict conditions on member states’ access to funds from the EU budget for the years 2028–2034.

"A document released by the European Commission indicates that a new requirement will be introduced linking the receipt of funds for social housing and agricultural subsidies to member states’ adoption of regulations related to organic farming and gender equality policy. The European Commission’s linking of access to EU funds to worldview and ideological issues is a step toward the centralization of power within the EU and interferes with the sovereignty of member states. “The introduction of this type of conditionality is a form of blackmail against member states, reads the letter to the European Commission.

In light of the above, Jadwiga Wiśniewska asked whether the European Commission realizes that imposing further bureaucratic criteria for obtaining subsidies for European agriculture will exacerbate the economic crisis in this sector. She also wanted to know what rationale justifies linking agricultural funding to the promotion of LGBT ideology. She further inquired whether the Commission anticipates any other ideological or worldview-based criteria that will determine payments from the EU budget for the years 2028–2034.
