Ryszard Czarnecki on the migration crisis

Ryszard Czarnecki on the migration crisis

On the final day of the European Parliament’s plenary session in Strasbourg, a debate was held on a parliamentary question to the Commission regarding the ongoing migration crisis. PiS MEP Ryszard Czarnecki spoke during the discussion.

Ryszard Czarnecki recalled a statement by EU Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson, which sparked immense concern among the public in the European Union when she said that the EU needs 4.5 million immigrants per year. “Of course, this can be broken down by country; Poland is the fifth-largest country in the European Union, and that amounts to hundreds of thousands per year, commented the former Vice-President of the European Parliament. He added that “it’s no surprise that people are simply afraid of such situations.” The MEP recalled what happened, for example, in Finland, which in 1990 invited just 100 Somalis on humanitarian grounds, and now, more than 30 years later, there are 30,000 of them there, noting that this represents a massive increase. “Instead of coming up with surreal plans and proposals, listen to your citizens, Ryszard Czarnecki urged the European Commission.
