Sudan in the Thick of Conflict – Adam Bielan Calls for Humanitarian Aid and Protection for Christians

During a plenary session of the European Parliament, MEP Adam Bielan, the ECR Group’s coordinator on the Committee on Foreign Affairs, emphasized the urgent need to respond to the humanitarian crisis in Sudan and to ensure lasting peace.

“A war of attrition is raging in Sudan, one that neither side can win, and the only loser is the population. Nearly two-thirds of the population needs immediate aid, Bielan noted. He pointed out that the warring parties are committing horrific crimes, including against children, as they pursue their goals without regard for the civilian population.

The MEP pointed out that an obstacle to ending the conflict through diplomatic means is the involvement of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is striving for total military victory, and that its potential ties to Iran are affecting the situation throughout the region.

Bielan condemned the escalating persecution of Christians and called for the expansion of sanctions against those responsible for crimes, obstructing humanitarian aid, and human rights violations. He also emphasized the need to increase humanitarian aid and support for the Christian community.
