Today in Strasbourg, during the final session of this term of the European Parliament, a debate took place titled “An Attack on the Climate and Nature: Far-Right and Conservative Attempts to Destroy the Green Deal and Prevent Investment in Our Future.” PiS MEP Beata Szydło spoke during the debate.
Beata Szydło stated that “there have already been many absurd debates during this parliamentary term, but right now the left-wing radicals have outdone themselves.” “This is a mockery of democracy and parliamentary democracy, and above all, it is an insult to Europeans,” she said.
As she explained, instead of focusing on important issues such as climate protection, lack of competitiveness, or farmers’ protests, the discussion centers on bizarre accusations directed at right-wing groups. “Do you think they’re ‘far-right extremists’? These people are defending their farms and their future,” she emphasized.
The former Polish prime minister asked whether those initiating the debate were not interested in the state of the European economy and its prospects. “Are you discussing the future of Europeans, about what their lives will be like?” Szydło asked, pointing out that citizens are closing their businesses because they cannot afford to pay their bills and see no prospects for themselves. “This is precisely the Green Deal. And that is what these elections will be about,” she said.
Beata Szydło stated that “the green ideology imposed on Europeans does not help them at all and does not offer prospects for a bright future.” “Of course, we need to talk about what’s happening in Europe and how to protect the environment and the climate, but you’re doing this at the expense of the people, the economy, and European security. We stand with Europe and Europeans. We stand with the European economy and with European agriculture. We will not let you bring Europe to ruin,” she emphasized.
