Izabela Kloc: “Is the inclusion of the right to abortion in the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union intended to further a policy of depopulating Europe?”

During the European Parliament’s plenary session in Strasbourg, a debate was held on enshrining the right to abortion in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. PiS MEP Izabela Kloc took the floor during the debate.

Izabela Kloc quoted the still-relevant words of Saint John Paul II regarding respect for human life: “Every human being has the right to absolute respect for the fundamental good that is life, and the recognition of this right constitutes the foundation of coexistence among people and the existence of a political community. Nothing and no one can grant the right to kill an innocent being, whether it be an embryo or a fetus, a child or an adult, an elderly person, someone terminally ill, or a dying person. No authority has the right to compel or permit this.”

“Is enshrining the right to abortion in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights intended to implement a policy of depopulating Europe?” the MEP asked. She pointed out that this policy was outlined in 1972 by the Club of Rome in its report “The Limits to Growth”. She noted that the current President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, “eagerly” cites this report, which posited that Poland was to be depopulated and reduced to 15 million citizens. “A population of 15 million for Poland—is that what this is about?” asked the Polish politician.
