In Strasbourg, during a plenary session of the European Parliament, a debate took place regarding the return of Romanian treasures unlawfully appropriated by Russia. PiS MEP Kosma Złotowski spoke during the debate.
“Russia is not only a terrorist state, but also a thief and a plunderer. All the countries of Central and Eastern Europe have experienced this firsthand in the past,” – stated the Polish MEP, recalling that cultural assets, industrial infrastructure, and natural resources in countries dominated and occupied by the tsarist, Soviet, and now Putin regimes have been stolen and looted for decades. As he pointed out, the Romanian gold is one of the most spectacular examples of such plunder, which has never been accounted for.
Kosma Złotowski stated that what is happening in Ukraine today is the result of Moscow’s impunity, which the world has tolerated for centuries. “Russia, which, together with Nazi Germany, sparked World War II, should bear the same moral and financial responsibility for that conflict as its ally from September 1939. Otherwise, it will continue to destroy, kill, and plunder—even in Western Europe!” he emphasized.
