Marlena Maląg Named Deputy Chair of the ECON Committee

Today, during a meeting of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, a by-election was held for the position of vice-chair of the committee. PiS MEP Marlena Maląg was elected to this position.

The ECON Committee is one of the most important committees in the European Parliament; its responsibilities include banking regulations, the review of national recovery plans, capital markets, and competitiveness. It is also particularly important from Poland’s perspective, given that Poland is outside the eurozone.

“As a member of its leadership, I will work to ensure that EU legislation, which focuses primarily on the eurozone, also takes into account countries outside of it,” said the newly elected vice-chair of ECON.
