PiS MEPs: "The EU must take a firmer stance toward Iran, including tightening sanctions and unequivocally condemning its involvement in Russia's war"

In Strasbourg, during the ongoing plenary session of the European Parliament, a debate was held on terrorism sponsored by the Islamic Republic of Iran in light of recent attacks in Europe. PiS MEPs Adam Bielan and Dominik Tarczyński spoke during the discussion.

Adam Bielan pointed out that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has long been involved in activities that destabilize the region and endanger lives. “From the brutal suppression of Iranian protests to supplying weapons to Russia and launching ballistic missiles against Israel, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps consistently flouts international law and human rights. Their support for extremist groups throughout the Middle East exacerbates the global threats they pose,” he emphasized.

The MEP noted that by engaging diplomatically with such a regime, the EU is jeopardizing its own security and moral standing. “It undermines our credibility and weakens the principles we uphold,” he added.

“We cannot afford to remain passive. The EU must adopt a more firm stance toward Iran, including tightening sanctions, and unequivocally condemn its involvement in Russia’s war, the Polish politician urged. As Bielan emphasized, it is essential that all member states unite to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization. “This is not just a symbolic gesture, but a necessary step to protect our citizens and uphold international law, he noted.

Dominik Tarczyński stated that it has been common knowledge for many years that Iran sponsors terrorism. He said that we should ask ourselves, “Who let the Islamists and terrorists into Europe?” “The leftists. And who is responsible for this? The so-called democrats, he added.

The MEP stated that “it is a disgrace for Europe to let terrorists into Europe” along with the influx of illegal migrants. He noted that the mayor of Warsaw, whose party belongs to the EPP, intends to rent out more spaces and a building to “members of a radical Muslim brotherhood.” “So we’re having a debate about Iran, but we should also be discussing illegal migration and radical Islamists, whom leftists and so-called democrats have let into Europe. But we, the conservatives and Republicans, will save Christian Europe, he emphasized.
